maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me...

I really love this song by Oasis... (Cartel also did a great cover of it on the Punk Goes 90's CD) in fact, it's one of my all time favorite songs ever. I have had people ask me why, and I could never really tell them... but it's a great song. I used to decorate my old myspace page with icons of pictures where people wrote the lyrics on index cards and stuff, and I had probably a million of them in my photo-bucket... my favorite line in the song is "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do, about you now" and the line that is  now the title of this post "i said maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me, and after all, you're my wonderwall" I really have no idea what the heck a wonderwall is... but I like to think of it as something like a saving grace, or a best friend, or your everything, whoever that might be. If you haven't heard this song before, you should probably go straight to Amazon MP3 or to iTunes and listen to a sample of it, I think, if we have the same taste, you'll love it... if not, try listening to the one by Cartel, I adore both versions, but the one by Cartel has a little more oomph to it IMHO.

Is there a song that you love, that you're not quite sure what it means, but you apply it to yourself anyways? Tell me about it!!

random fall thoughts

The beginning of Fall, is one of my favorite times of the year. The days are still sunny, and it's finally about 85 degrees outside... most days there is a light breeze.. and I can wear a light sweatshirt in the morning without looking like an idiot!

I hate being cold... when it gets to be 17 degrees or lower, my heart starts to shrink like the Grinch's heart... and I get grouchy. (I often wonder to myself, if the Grinch had been born someplace warm like South Florida, instead of in Whoville where it clearly snows ALOT, if his heart would have been more giving and happy!) Anyways, back to what I was saying... I hate being cold, but I also hate being super hot too. At least when it's cold, you can get warm again by wearing a sweater or using a blanket.. in the blistering heat you can't really ever get cooled down. Unless you have AC (and some people don't. When I visited my grandpa in Oklahoma last year, he didn't have central air.. he had a window AC, and it sucked.) you're pretty much going to die.

I also love the new fall make-up collections and clothes that come out right now! I can't wait to wear tunic sweaters, cords and boots! Along with plum colored smokey eyes and deeper lipsticks... and warm flannel jammies....

What is your favorite season?

Sticky Notes!

image via weheartit

So, Saturdays are like my default bloggy day now! I've been low on inspiration as you well know, and today, I came across this picture, and I loved it! I am in search of heart sticky notes right now, so that I can put quotes on them, and stick them up in my cube! Inspirational quotes always make me smile, and sometimes, when you work in a call center, you just need to smile every once in awhile, otherwise.. you might want to go home and I don't know... bury your head under the covers... or cry... or heck. Both.

Is there anything that inspires you or makes you happy at work? or how about around the house if you're a SAHM/SAHW?

Ladies Cover their Behinds!

When I was younger, especially when I was in high school, my mom always told me that I needed to balance out my clothes. If I wore something like a tank top on top, I needed to wear longer shorts... and if I wore something shorter on the bottom, I needed to wear something a little more modest on top. I never understood what she was saying... in fact, I tried my hardest not to listen. In the dead of the summer, I'd wear my shortest shorts and my most minimal tank tops... and wonder why I was getting cat calls from dirty older guys... and why guys thought I was a big ol' slut face. Now, I totally understand...

It's not to say, that you can't wear a tank top, and shorts at the same time! When it's Summer, it's to hot to be bundled up all the time... but I do think, that people can exercise a little common sense when they pick out their clothes for the day! First of all, take into account your body type... if you're busty or have a behind (or both) then, you will look a lot more exposed in daisy dukes and a tiny tank top... which is exactly what I looked like. My friends could wear the same thing, with their boyish/athletic/waif figures and never got the same attention. Second, think about what you put together... if you have most of your legs uncovered, it won't kill you to wear something that's not tight and low cut on top and vice-versa. What you will look like, is a hooker, and not a lady.

Here are some pictures of what I would say are still cute and "cool" for summer, but keep you looking like a lady! One, shows my favorite combo, shorts and a tee, and the other shows a way to make shorts and a tank top look classier too! The key is to not wear something super tight on both your top and bottom and to "cover your behind"!
